Votes For Women

May 1, 2007 by · Leave a Comment

Is the climate ever going to be right for a woman president? What conditions would be optimal for legitimate and serious thoughts concerning placing a woman as Commander and Chief? I don’t see it as a wise choice unless all other qualified male candidates, of either party were to suddenly die.

Damn does that sound a bit harsh? Well since I often speak to the generalities of our country and the averages, then: no. It’s not harsh at all. When you think about what makes men and women different, I do see many positive qualities in the female, but not for the role of President of the United States. (Remember that, please. We’re talking stereotypical woman, whom is the target candidates are pandering to.)

The job of being President is not only being the leader of your country for your own citizens, but to also be the face of your people to all other nations. When so many of the key-role countries in the political climate today have “places” for women and treat them as possessions rather than equal human beings, it would be an illegitimate monumental expectation to think that they would be sincere when conducting foreign relations.

Or could placing a woman in power be a turning point for the world and start a real change? I know there are women in power now, but it is not commonplace in the global body politic.

Women are typically more shortsighted when it comes to thinking about their own needs and security, let alone an entire country. Men are often more forward thinking, not worrying as much about the now, and having a broader picture and scope. Generalities sure suck, though even if a woman were to come into office, she would not relate to her female constituents, as she would portray in her campaigning. Of course that’s an understatement for ALL candidates.

Of course virtually all Presidencies start something they cannot finish. Plans and schemes are put into place that future Presidents stop or destroy, before fruition. This happens every time, especially if there is a party change with the new president. It’s borderline insanity.

I will tell you this, however: our next President, regardless of race, religion, sex, party affiliation, etc – I will stand behind and give my support. Our freedom of speech these days is losing its meaning and the censors have become the ring masters of some hemisphere circus that I am disgusted by. I do write to my State Representatives and occasionally to the President himself. I am not just commenting from my armchair here, though I could stand to be more active in my local government.

The whole one day of blog silence really didn’t irk me so much, than it did put focus on reaction. I don’t think more people should be armed with handguns, that’s the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I am pro guns, but not pro private militia. Why don’t we have a slew of banners reminding people to frickin’ vote?

So, change my mind already… am I way off base? Feel free to sound off or let me know what you think – if you are a registered and active voter. If not, then you don’t have a voice anyway.
