American Daughter

She – holds the children
in the – palm of her hand
she – gives them the dreams
and then – she wont take a stand
He – spent his whole life
in the – walls of learning
he – turns their minds
and then – helps start the burning
American daughter
burning your past
Global children
not meant to last
Bonds of tradition breaking
self inflicted lies
Blind justice murdered
and our forefathers cry
You – throw stones forgetting
in the – beginning we came
you – eat false pride
and then – forsaking their names
We – buried our fathers
in the – muddy fields far away
we – swallow their pill
and then – fold our hands to pray
American slaughter
burning your past
Global children
not meant to last
Bonds of tradition breaking
self inflicted lies
Blind justice murdered
and our forefathers die
How many times – must we bleed
How many times – wont they lead
Maybe someday we’ll find our voice…
