Carried Away

May 19, 2007 by · Leave a Comment

Purple hearts worn above old thinning veins
Rewritten war stories they all sound the same
With lifeless expression, poison in your face
Our friend the Blue Falcon’s been carried away

I’d be using my hands for more important things
But destroying our lives, must give yours meaning
This was our wall, you forced us to break
Your mission accomplished, the scar never carried away

And I’m throwing your medals over this wall
You promised to protect me but not anymore
I put in my time now, You’re taking whats mine
This social corruption paid for with our lives

What makes you hate me, when I’ve listened to you?
You turned your back, obvious you’re through
You can still hear me, know when I say
I’ll be smiling the day that you’re carried away

And I’m throwing your medals over this wall
You promised to protect me but not anymore
I put in my time now, You’re taking whats mine
This social corruption paid for with our lives

So I’m throwing your medals over this wall
You promised to protect me but not anymore
I put in my time now, You’re taking whats mine
This social corruption paid for with our lives

Talking heads bobble on taut puppet strings
Which one represents us, beats the hell outta me…
