I got this neat little sticker after voting this morning.
So I voted this morning, and it was more stressful for some reason. My hands were almost shaking while I filled in the little bubbles next to the names and approvals or rejections of my local propositions. I don’t know why I was so stressed out by the time I was done with my ballot, but I was rather anxious as I slid my sheet into the reader.
The two ladies greeting people as they entered the polling place, handed me my sticker and thanked me for coming in. I spun around and returned the pen I had borrowed to fill out my ballot, and then came back and tried to say “thank you” in return, or “have a great day”… but it came out more like “thak-agood-day”. The two ladies just stared at me as I then hurried got myself out the door.
What a great impression I probably left them with. Another fine young American, illiterate and bumbling, in and out of the election process. Way to go Doug!
