That’s Nice

November 26, 2008 by Douglas · Leave a Comment

You know what’s nice about being drunk?  Not caring, that’s what.  In fact I frequently experience inebriance just for the sensation of not caring.  And, yes, I thank God regularly for ‘Spell Check’ because otherwise half of the things I post would be illegible to the common man.  I mean that by the way.

I honestly don’t even know if “inebriance” is a word.  My spell check at this moment is flagging it as an error.  Maybe its enebriance?  Nope, it hates that even more!

Anyway… I have been writing blogs in my brain frequently, but not expelling the demon into these pages from lack of diligence, or simply laziness.  I am working on a new career that is not related to the internet, and making the transition is more than difficult.

First of all, I love to blog.  And although I am a comment whore, I have very little traffic to my blog unless you are doing a Google search for “Coldfusion Sucks” – which is by far the best search results I can attribute traffic to.

So have I told you lately?  The internet is dead.  Yep… you might have heard it here first.  I’ve been saying it in person now for the last several months, but this is probably the first time I am putting it in ‘print’ online for your consummation.  The Internet of 5 to seven years ago has long since died – and this new revolution of virtual media versus the folks who are struggling to hold on to their ‘existence’ online using standard HTML and ecommerce is going to be a long and painful one.

Unfortunately for me, I love to blog.  This means I will likely continue to journal when I think of something good, or am inebriated enough to just begin spouting drivel for you to consume.  This is the case tonight – I have been absent from the online community for too long.  My connections with multiply are dwindling at and exponential rate – and I don’t even care.

Social bookmarking sites and “meat markets” just are not for me.  There is a certain aspect that appeals to me… that being the comments – because I like feedback on my content.  But for the most part there is a ton of drama and time wasted on wild goose chases and flame wars in any/most online communities.

Rest assured, the Internet as it was known 5 years ago is no more.  Believe me.
