25 Shopping Days ‘Til Christmas

Oh yeah, look at that calendar slackers.  You have yourself twenty-five, count them, 25 days to shop till you proverbially drop to Christmas.  Any ideas on what you’ll be buying for your significant loved ones?  Go ahead and list any ideas you already have in the comments – its not like I’m preventing you from actually interacting with this blog.  Was that subtle enough?  I want comments darn it!

I for one will be purchasing, and recommending, Guitar Hero for any of the major gaming systems out there.  They have it in flavors for the Play Station, X Box and of course my favorite, the Wii.  Not only am I pushing to obtain the Guitar Hero, but also I intend to get the World Tour set complete with functional drums, bass guitar and microphone.  Do I sound excited?  I should be!  I might be buying it for a close relative, namely my child but rest assured that it is a selfish gift that will keep on giving – as I play it while said child is in school.  YES!

I’m going to do my best to count down the remaining days until Christmas with progressively cheaper, shoddy and likely still available in stores products.  I am notoriously famous for stating I will do something and then not following through, which unfortunately also means that I might not end up with Guitar Hero.  That kind of sucks in a backhanded slap across the face jolt of reality – but it’s my nature.

I have a problem coming up with lists of items I want for Christmas or my birthday.  The only reason I try is because people ask for one – I’d rather just be happy with what someone thought I’d like, if I got/get anything at all.  I really do like Christmas for the giving aspect of it.  On a side-note then maybe I should GIVE Guitar Hero to MYSELF and complete the circle…?  Yeah, then I’d be happy and could have an excellent excuse for not leaving the house for the next few weeks.

I looked at both Guitar Hero and Rock Band and liked them both.  While goofing off at Best Buy with my friends Donny and Angie, we found that the Guitar Hero drum set was better than the other from Rock Band.  Donny was the first to state his opinion, an educated one at that, since I believe he owns both games.  My opinion came after watching a nicely produced video from the makers of Guitar Hero and reveling about their awesome set.  They sold me – so Guitar Hero it is!  Plus Rock Band 2 isn’t out for the Wii yet.

So there you go, my first unsolicited plug for a product available for purchase at a store near you today – Guitar Hero for the X Box, Play Station or the totally awesome and in a class by itself: Wii.
